Become a Student Interfaith Leader on Your Campus and Make Amazing New Friends
Join us April 21-22 for the Leadership Lab and say "I-WILL!"
Thanks to a grant from the Interfaith Youth Core, Utah State University, Idaho State University, Utah Valley University and the Utah Campus Compact are coming together to provide a unique opportunity for students from campuses all over the Intermountain West to become campus change-agents and bridge-buiders! The United States is more religiously diverse than ever before, but religious diversity doesn't mean that we all know how to live harmoniously and cooperatively with one another. The Intermountain West Interfaith Leadership Lab (I-WILL) will help prepare students who want to develop the vision, the appreciative knowledge and the skills necessary to build positive and meaningful relationships across religious divides. If you're ready to stand up and say "I-WILL," we've got some great activities planned that will empower you to build bridges of religious cooperation as an interfaith leader on your campus.
This student leadership training opportunity will introduce you to new friends, teach you the tools for sharing authentically, help you learn to engage appreciatively with religiously different others and provide opportunities to come together in service to a common good. In addition to learning how to become an interfaith leader, the multiple activities and training workshops offered will help you to develop and strengthen a movement for interfaith cooperation on your own campus. The lab will include large-group presentations and hands-on sessions as well as fun networking activities.
This is a unique opportunity that is open to all registered students of colleges and universities in Idaho, Utah, and Nevada (but the event is limited to 250 students so you should apply early)! The anticipated cost is $20.00/student (but check with local partners at your university because your institution may already have plans in place to offset registration costs). Meals and simple lodging accommodations will be included in the registration fee.
To register for this event (either as an individual, or as a campus ally registering your students), visit the Interfaith Leadership Lab information page.
(Important note: The Cost of $20.00/student before April 10th may be paid through a university sponsorship. Be sure to indicate WHICH school you are from when you register or call your university representative for more information).
Also, thanks to donations from our partners, lodging is available at the USU University Inn on a first come-first served basis. Be sure to register SOON to ensure your space at the Inn!!!
